Sonshine Preschool

Our Background
Sonshine Preschool has been established by the Sweetser Wesleyan Church for the purpose of providing a 2½ hour program that will benefit the child, the parent, and the community. The school is a non-profit, nonsectarian, interracial, and nonpolitical institution.
The school is governed by a board consisting of six members. Five of those are members that attend the Sweetser Wesleyan Church. One serves as a parent representative.
The Director oversees the daily operations of the school and assists in teaching skills classes as needed. It is recommended the director hold a four year Bachelors Degree and have experience with administrative as well as early childhood development.
Teachers are required to have a high school diploma, with a recommended certification in Early Childhood. Pre-Kindergarten teachers oversee a group of children with a focus on teaching targeted goals that prepare the student for entrance into Kindergarten. Early Learner teachers prepare their students for entrance into Kindergarten.
