Building Restoration

Update from Pastor Andrew April 17, 2026

Restoration Update

We are currently in the process of installing drywall in the sanctuary. Seeing the space begin to take shape again has been incredibly encouraging. What was once damaged and exposed is now slowly being restored, piece by piece.

This progress would not be possible without the generosity and support of so many. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has given, prayed, and stood with us during this season.

We would especially like to recognize and thank:
  • The River Church
  • The Sweetser Town Board
  • The West Point Neighborhood Association

Your generosity has made a real and lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful.
As of now, we have received $20,528.80 in donations. Thank you so much for helping us reach this point.

An Unexpected Setback
On top of the ongoing sanctuary restoration, we were recently hit with another unexpected challenge.

On April 14th, a hail storm moved through our area and caused significant damage to our church property. The storm broke eight windows, including five of our stained glass windows on the west side of the church. In addition, the hail caused damage to our roof, siding, and even our gutters, as well as damage to the roof and siding on the parsonage.

We are currently waiting on next steps with our insurance company as we assess the full scope of repairs needed from the storm.
While this was not something we anticipated in the middle of an already challenging season, we remain confident that God is still at work through it all.

Looking Ahead
Even with these added challenges, we are continuing to move forward.

The total estimated cost to restore our sanctuary remains around $25,000, and while the storm damage introduces additional needs, our immediate focus continues to be completing the worship center so we can gather again in that space.

In the coming weeks, we will continue working on:
  • Completing drywall installation
  • Installing lighting
  • Painting and finishing work
  • Cleaning and preparing the space for use again

Thank You for Standing With Us
This season has not been easy—but it has been filled with reminders of God’s provision through people.

If you have already given, prayed, or supported us in any way, please know how deeply grateful we are.

If you would like to continue supporting this effort—through prayer, sharing, or giving—we would be honored to have you partner with us as we move forward.

Together, we are not just repairing damage—we are witnessing a story of faith, resilience, and community being built in real time.

We continue to hold our Sunday worship services in the ministry hall.  Pastor Andrew calls it our "pop-up sanctuary".  We have to set up and tear down each week so our preschool can continue to run as normal.
